Tumble Bug Pre-School Class Descriptions (ages 1 to 5yrs)
Rolly Polly 1 (12 – 24 months)
Mom or Dad helps introduce their child to the exciting world of gymnastics! The child explores the specially designed world of “gymnastics” activity in a safe and nurturing environment. (30 minute class)
Rolly Polly 2 (2 years old)
This class is also with Mom or Dad but is more structured than Rolly Polly 1. Gross motor skills, body awareness, and overall coordination are combined with fun. (45 minute class)
Lovebugs (2.5 – 3 years old)
A transition class that moves a child from a group with a parent to an independent class without the parent. (45 minute class)
Fireflies (3 years old)
The first class for the child without a parent. The child continues to work on gross motor skills, gymnastics basics, and socialization within a class setting. (45 minute class)
Butterflies/Yellow Jackets (4 & 5 years old)
These are classes for girls/boys who have never taken gymnastics before. The students are introduced to basic gymnastics concepts and group socialization with an emphasis on fun. This is a lead up to the level 1 school age class. (55 minute class)
Ladybugs/Tiger Beetles (4 & 5 years old)
A child must have had at least 1 session of beginner gymnastics to enroll. The focus is primarily on basic gymnastics skills with some easy, fun exercises to develop strength and flexibility. (55 minute class)
School Age Class Descriptions (ages 6 & up)
Boys and Girls Level 1 This class is for the beginner student. Basic gymnastics skills are introduced with an emphasis on gymnastics positions, safety, and terminology. (70 minute class)
Boys and Girls Level 2 The primary purpose of this level is to teach the basic skills on each gymnastics apparatus and to continue to reveal the important lessons that gymnastics can instill in children. (70 minute class)
Girls Level 3 and 4 We will build upon the basic skills learned in the previous levels while teaching the intermediate skills of gymnastics. Level 4 is an open ended class that continues to refine the students’ basic and intermediate skills and introduce the more advanced skills. Short routine work is also a part of these levels. (70 minute class)
Cheerleading Cheer classes focus on cheerleading fundamentals including: motion techniques, jumps, and tumbling. Stunting and chants are also included. Beginner and intermediate cheer classes are available. Students will be evaluated at their first class and placed into the appropriate level. (70 minute class)
Tumbling and Trampoline These classes utilize the spring floor, rod floor, tumble trak, and in-ground trampolines to teach beginner through advanced tumbling skills. Floor and trampolines are the only events incorporated into these classes. (70 minute class)
Adult Tumbling All levels of gymnasts participate in the loosely structured format with varying goals including cheer tryouts, strength building, and just plain fun! (70 minute class)
*ALL RECREATIONAL LEVEL CLASSES EMPHASIZE SAFETY, FUN, PARTICIPATION, PERSONAL ATTENTION, AND MOST OF ALL, INSTILLING THE JOY AND INTRINSIC VALUES OF GYMNASTICS ACTIVITY (SETTING AND ACCOMPLISHING GOALS, INCREASED SELF-ESTEEM AND MUCH MORE). WE ALSO KEEP TRACK OF THOSE STUDENTS THAT SHOW OUTSTANDING ABILITY AND INTEREST IN BECOMING A COMPETITIVE GYMNAST. AFTER ALL, ALL GREAT OLYMPIC GYMNASTS BEGIN AS A RECREATIONAL GYMNASTICS STUDENT.
